The Defibulators
The DEFiBULATORs have emerged as one of the most engaging live acts from the thriving roots scene in Brooklyn, NY – melding, bluegrass rockabilly, dixieland, and punk into their own eclectic sound.
Their shows are irresistibly infectious and rowdy as they wield an arsenal of instruments —double bass, banjo, fiddle, backhills harp, Telecaster, and junkyard percussion-- with relentless energy and virtuosity. The DEFiBULATORs jump-start new life into vintage country music and deliver a unique sound that’s both timeless and timely, deep-fried and downtown. Razor sharp harmonies and surreal lyrics illuminate songs that are gritty and witty, spinning tales of deception, debauchery, depleted bank accounts, fanaticism, vintage firearms, biological anomalies, airline intoxication, and animal ennui.
The band has self-published their very own 24-page Coloring Book, which offers a peek into the spontaneity and humor that has become a trademark of The DEFiBULATORs experience.
Recently they composed and recorded for the original score of the feature film, Skiptracers, an indie hillbilly epic set in rural Alabama.
They also proudly serve as house-band and wrote the theme song for the long-running, alternative comedy event, The Rejection Show, hosted by Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon writer, Jon Friedman, at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in NYC.
The DEFiBULATORs enjoy authentic BBQ, afternoon badmitton, and bourbon on a bearskin rug.
