Folk Soul Revival

Folk Soul Revival

FOLK SOUL REVIVAL is an upbeat, rootsy foursome from the mountains of Appalachia. Based out of Southwest Virginia, these youthful musicians have been playing around the immediate area, for many years individually, and for the last several months in this configuration. Their diversity, creativity and passion is evident among those who have witnessed the boys hone their craft onstage. The band, with their distinct vocal approaches, back-porch instrumentation, haunting three-part harmonies and sheer talent have garnered local success with high profile gigs opening for the likes of guitarist Jason Isbell (of Drive-By Truckers fame), vocalist Justin Townes Earle (Steve Earle’s son), and multi-instrumentalist Chris Janson (fresh off tour with Hank Jr and Lynyrd Skynyrd).

The guys in FOLK SOUL REVIVAL have also headlined several local shows in various venues, to great success, and are pleased to have been invited for two slots on the upcoming, world famous, Rhthym and Roots festival in Bristol, TN. Being based out of the Appalchians, with it’s rich, and traditional musical heritage, has helped to shape and define the sound of FOLK SOUL REVIVAL, but not entirely. Each of the individual musicians bring some of their own, unique and personal influences to the group and as a result the music is a fresh amalgamation of what Americana music should be. Together, these four musicians are a crowd pleasing reminder of what live music is all about. Their ability to perform toe tapping- jugband type jams, touching ballads about love and loss, traditional folk type songs, and the occasional unique take on some long forgotten classic Top 40 hit are what keeps the seats filled, and the show goers smiling.
