The Dixie Bee-Liners
The Dixie Bee-Liners are an American bluegrass band formed in New York City in 2002 by Buddy Woodward and Brandi Hart, and the band members currently reside in Bristol, Va., and Nashville, Tenn. Their music has been bluegrass, Americana, alt-country, folk, and “Bible Belt Noir”.
The Bee-Liners have released three records. The first was a 2005 self-titled/self-released EP on their own label, Betty Troublesome. Shortly after, Hart and Woodward relocated to Southwest Virginia and signed with Pinecastle Records, which released the group’s first full-length CD, “RIPE”, in April 2008. Their third CD, “Susanville”, was a bluegrass concept album, co-produced by Grammy-winning producer/engineer Bil VornDick with Woodward and Hart, and released in November 2009. The self-titled EP debuted on the Roots Music Report Bluegrass Chart at No. 14, going on to spend 56 weeks on the chart with nine of those weeks in the Top 10. “RIPE” topped the Bluegrass Now Fan’s Choice Top 20 chart twice and also earned two simultaneous No. 1 ratings on Bluegrass Music Profiles’ Top 20 Hot Singles and the Roots Music Report Bluegrass Chart.
The band spent nine consecutive weeks atop the RMR Bluegrass Chart and two consecutive months in the Top Ten of both Bluegrass Unlimited charts. All told, the band achieved 23 weeks of No. 1 ratings in 2008 and was named the Roots Music Report’s Bluegrass
Building on the tremendous success of their 2008 chart-topper RIPE, The Bee-Liners blaze a bold new trail with Susanville -- a concept album that takes listeners on a musical road trip along America's highways and byways. The band's second full-length work, Susanville peers into the cars and trucks in America's cities and towns, bringing to life 19 breathtaking musical moments along America's interstates and byways. The band employs its signature blend of hooks and harmonies. “Susanville” debuted at No. 32 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart.
Multiple Grammy-winner BIL VORNDICK produced both Susanville and RIPE for Pinecastle Records. VornDick works with legendary artists on a regular basis, but he has a passion for helping young bands develop their talent and establish a footprint in the music industry.
